MEMORANDUM FOR :

DIRECTOR, DIRECTORATE FOR OPERATIONS AND
LOGISTICS, U.S. ARMY SECURITY ASSISTANCE COMMAND

SUBJECT :

Assignment of Case Designators for S4, S5, and S6 Cases (DSCA 02-15)

REFERENCE :

  1. Director, Directorate for Operations and Logistics, U.S. Army Security Assistance Command Letter, 4 March 2001, Subject: "Assignment of Case Designators for S4, S5, and S6 Cases"

Thank you for your referenced letter requesting our attention to the assignment of certain case designators to the United States Army Security Assistance Command (USASAC). My staff has discussed the details of the problem highlighted in your letter with representatives from the USASAC policy office in Alexandria. I am pleased to inform you that this problem is resolved.

DSCA, in consultation with USASAC Alexandria, will not assign case designators beginning with the letters "B," "C," "G," or "I" for Army S4, S5, and S6 cases. This letter will serve as documentation of that agreement. Since the time we received your letter, we have been using this procedure and are happy to report that we have not encountered further discrepancies.

If you have any questions regarding this matter, please feel free to contact Mr. Steve Harris, (703) 604-6611/DSN 664-6611 or e-mail steve.harris@osd.pentagon.mil.
