Discontinuance of the Enhanced Accelerated Case Closure (EACC) List
Several requests have been made by the Military Departments (MILDEPS) to discontinue the EACC list. After DSCA prepares the list, the MILDEPS must take the time to review it and notify DSCA of any cases on the list that cannot be closed, why they can't be closed, and recommend other cases to replace any cases removed from the list. This is a time consuming effort.
The EACC list was a very useful tool in the mid-90's to expedite closure of a backlog of cases that were supply service complete (SSC) for more than 2 years. This backlog has been significantly decreased and is being adequately managed by the MILDEPS today.
Based on the above, effective immediately, DSCA will no longer issue the EACC list. The list of the 100 oldest SSC cases the MILDEPS currently provide semi-annually to assist DSCA in preparing the EACC list, is also no longer required.
The current policy requiring cases to be closed within 24 months of the supply service complete date is still in effect and the MILDEPS are still responsible for ensuring the number of SSC cases older than 24 months will be reduced each quarter, as well as closing any new SSC cases before they are 24 months old.
Should the number of SSC cases older than 24 months begin to increase and a new backlog result, we will revisit the use of the EACC list. Please direct any questions to Ms. Candy Donaldson, DSCA/DBO/FPIO, 703-602-1360.
