Establishment of the Security Assistance Automated Resource Management Suite (SAARMS) Working Group (DSCA 01-09)

The DSCA Deputy Comptroller for Resource Management (Compt/RM) is the proponent for policy for SAARMS, a series of Microsoft Access-based programs developed by DISAM to manage all facets of the security assistance resources of the Security Assistance Organizations. Compt/RM will chair the SAARMS Working Group with representatives from DISAM, DFAS Denver, and the Unified Commands. Request each addressee notify the DSCA POC of the name of its Working Group representative.

The SAARMS Working Group will meet semiannually to discuss the recommended changes and additions, determine the validity of each, develop a priority list of programming to be accomplished, and establish a timeline for completion of each task. The Working Group will also review software testing and training requirements. As the Working Group Chair, the DSCA proponent will provide feedback to all users on the feasibility and priority of recommended changes.

We encourage SAARMS users to recommend changes to the software to the DSCA proponent and their Working Group representatives via e-mail at any time. Working Group members will also solicit new requirements at annual Unified Command conferences and use formal surveys to garner input, as appropriate.

The DSCA SAARMS Proponent is Mr. Ken Eisenhardt, Compt/RM, 703-604-6551, DSN 6646551, fax 703-604-6536, e-mail.
